ABOUT ME

My name is Ben Elliott. I am a 17 year old Senior at DSST Cedar High School in Denver, Colorado.

I am passionate about a number of things, primarily sports, travel and Colorado’s outdoors, in particular skiing, hunting, fly fishing, camping, rafting and learning about Colorado’s wildlife and its habitat.

I play goalkeeper on my High School soccer team; I have played guitar for 12 years; and I get outside as much as possible. A few years ago, I decided to climb 14 of Colorado’s 14,000 peaks before my 14th birthday. (The photo above is me approaching Mount of the Holy Cross with my dog, Colonel.) I met this goal, but now I spend less time hiking mountains and more time on my other hobbies and activities, among them working toward the Eagle Scout rank. I am active with my Scout troop, BSA Troop 199 in Denver’s Washington Park neighborhood. In the last two summers, I finished a 10-day backpacking trek at BSA’s Philmont Scout Ranch. I plan to attend college next year, and hopefully have a good summer job before my first year.

I am really excited about being able to bring together my friends and family to do something special for the most beautiful species of waterfowl in Colorado.
